Welcome all! We’ll get started in just a minute. In the meantime, introduce yourself in the chat and let us know where you’re tuning in from.
Good morning, all. This is Aaron from Chicago. I'm a marketing specialist at Emergency Nurses Association and also co-chair of the DEI Council at our org. Side note: I'm also Brad's best friend since we were 5. DM me for dirty secrets. :)
Howdy Aaron, going to follow through on that DM promise!
Thanks for joining y’all!
I've been waiting all week for this conversation

You are welcome Maria! Great conversation as many BIPOC are having to work through grief from loss or caring for loved ones that may have limited financial resources.
The speakers are going to answer questions from the audience in a bit. Drop your questions in the Q&A box in your toolbar and we’ll be sure to ask them at the end of the hour.
It also can become very obvious folks who don't care even if they know what's going on.
I love that, Brad. Managers play such a critical role in facilitating this kind of space.
Making sure that SLT operates in that same space and not just lip service...
or that ERG
I agree, many of the workers are tired.
@aaron 100 on this past year has truly SHOWN who is present and NOT on the challenges that exist for BIPOC. I am personally being more direct at my organization with colleagues on what it IS and that we ALL need to be committed to change.
Or when you're one of 6 Black folks at your org...
(no cap) (literally my case)
i was ready lawrence but my computer was not D:
Mask...or maybe even a HAZBLACK suit
It be like that sometimes
meditation spaces at the workplace (once we're back to buildings, etc.

It was Breonna Taylor for me.
Yup. My org was planning a conference in STL when Ferguson protests were going on. NO ONE was speaking on this
great points Huyen!
@sharon yess so important to know when to walk away...don't want nobody to catch any hands at work lol
LOVE those tips Maria, THANK YOU!
